Vintage 1950’s Windsor Bone China Hammersley Fine Porcelain Gold Chintz Tea Duo

Windsor Bone China is a trade name used by the Co-operative Society in Stoke-On-Trent. The co-op movement began in Brighton through Dr. William King in 1844. James Colclough was one of the earliest co-op traders in Stoke-On-Trent and in 1901 the Co-operative Society was then officially founded in Burslem. The Windsor Pottery in Longton produced fine porcelain wares for the Co-operative Society. This item is a fine porcelain tea duo consisting of the saucer and matching tea cup, both extensively decorated with a gold chintz floral and leaf patterning across the surface. The tea cup stands on a pedestal base with a gold band and gold upon its handle and has been designed in an almost quatrefoil shape with four fluted sides. A bright pink and blue flower with green leaves is displayed within the tea cup.

The item is stamped underneath: Bone China, Windsor, Made in England.

Slight fading of the gold chintz on a small area of the saucer, aside from which both items are in very good condition with no other visible damages.

Saucer height: 2.5 cm, Diameter of base: 6.4 cm, Diameter of rim: 14 cm.

Tea cup height: 7.6 cm, Diameter of base: 4.4 cm, Diameter of rim: 9 cm.
