Vintage Set Of Fine Porcelain Sandwich Tray and 6 Matching Small Plates
Although difficult to determine the origin or manufacture of this set, the pattern itself was designed and retailed by William Adams for use under the Titian Ware name in Tunstall during 1910 – 1920’s, but was also used by Johnson Bros in the 1930’s, Aynsley China during the 1930’s and a version released under Nippon China by Noritake during the 1930’s-1940’s. The fact that the items are not marked or stamped could indicate a Japanese origin not meant for the export market of the time, although their appearance and style would rather strongly suggest a continental European origin. The set consists of a rectangular fine porcelain sandwich/snacks tray with embossed handles and black trim along with 6 identical matching square shaped plates. The pattern depicts a twirled black ribbon along the rim with red, orange and green floral bouquets in black urns.
The item is not marked or stamped.
One small plate has a very feint hairline from the rim halfway down and slight fading of the black pattern and rim has occurred on the items, aside from this they are in good condition with no visible damages.
