Vintage 1950’s Royal Grafton Fine Porcelain Biscuit Plate With Gold Gilt Patterning

A.B. Jones & Sons (Royal Grafton) was established in 1876 in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. In 1900 The Grafton Works was completed and the firm took up premises within. In 1966 the company was purchased by Crown House Glass Ltd. and in 1971 it was sold to New Zealand based Crown Lynn Potteries Ltd.

This item is a vintage fine porcelain biscuit plate manufactured by A.B. Jones & Sons under their Royal Grafton trade name during the 1950’s. The item has been decorated with gold trim along the rim and a gold gilt leaf and floral patterning on the verge. Each of the two handles of the plate has been decorated with embossed scroll patterning.

The plate is stamped underneath Royal Grafton Bone China Made in England.

There are some minor portions of the patterning where gilt loss has taken place, aside from which this plate is in very good vintage condition.
