Rectangular Shaped Stainless Steel Swedish Serving Platter
This item is a rectangular design Swedish tray / platter with an extended rim along the longitudinal sides.
Arthur Salm (1904-1988) was a German born Jewish prisoner of Dachau who gained release and immigrated to the USA. He gained all of his knowledge in metal work through an apprenticeship in his father’s dealership, later owning the factory with his brother and managing another dealership. In 1938 however the brothers Salm were forced to sell their factory to Germany for 1 Deutsche Mark. In America Arthur Salm established Arthur Salm Inc. in 1952 and the AS logo was used from 1958 and patented in USA, Sweden, Germany and Bolivia.
The item is stamped underneath A S Stainless 18-8 Sweden.
The item has some age related wear due to use, but is still in perfect usable condition.
