Vintage Japanese Noritake Stoneware Primastone Plate
In 1904, the forerunner of the Noritake Company was established in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya, Japan. The goal of this first factory was to create western style dinnerware for export. It took until 1914, however, to create the first porcelain dinnerware plate that was suitable for export.
The item is a vintage 1970’s off-white/very light grey 1970’s Japanese Stoneware Primastone range lunch plate, considered minimalist upon release. The pattern is a plain colour no.8319 released in 1972 and discontinued in 1978.
The plate is stamped underneath Noritake Primastone Genuine Stoneware Japan.
The plate has scratches on the well due to use, aside from which it is in good usable vintage condition.
